Descripción
La forma más fácil de comprobar cómo funciona una aplicacion en un sistema operativo distinto o igual al que se tiene instalado o de cómo se comportaría o funcionaria en nuestra PC un sistema operativo distinto al que tenemos, pero no queremos formatear por si no nos convence, es mediante la creación de un sistema operativo virtual. Este sistema operativo virtual se comportará como un programa mas y totalmente autonomo, pudiendo compartir archivos, tener internet, instalar aplicaciones, etc…, osea cualquier cosa que se pueda hacer en un sistema operativo normal, pero lo mejor de todo es que podremos hacer esto sin ningun riesto de afectar a nuestro sistema operativo anfitrion.
Por medio de esta aplicación es posible instalar sistemas operativos adicionales, conocidos como “sistemas invitados”, dentro de otro sistema operativo “anfitrión”. Entre los sistemas operativos soportados (en modo anfitrión) se encuentran GNU/Linux, Mac OS X, OS/2 Warp , Windows, y Solaris/OpenSolaris, y dentro de éstos es posible virtualizar los sistemas operativos FreeBSD, GNU/Linux, OpenBSD, OS/2 Warp, Windows, Solaris, MS-DOS y muchos otros.
